On January 24, 1989, Ted Bundy was executed at the Florida State Prison. Bundy received three death sentences for his crimes. He was executed in the electric chair approximately at 7:16 a.m. Over 2,000 people gathered outside the prison to celebrate his execution. People sold shirts saying “Burn Bundy Burn” and held signs stating similar things.
Over a span of five years, Ted Bundy murdered 30 girls and women. Bundy would gain their trust by pretending to be struggling with items due to a broken arm or impersonate a person in a position of authority such as a police officer.
