Crime Central Terms of Service
Effective date: July 22, 2026
Last updated: July 22, 2026
Welcome to Crime Central. These Terms of Service explain the basic rules for using the Crime Central website, articles, newsletters, comment sections, contact forms, and related content (collectively, the “Site”). In these Terms, “Crime Central,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Mikaylin Turner.
By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. About Crime Central
Crime Central publishes educational and editorial content about true crime, criminal justice, law, psychology, public policy, media, and related subjects. The Site is intended to provide evidence-based, victim-centered information without sensationalizing crime or harm.
Some articles discuss violence, abuse, exploitation, death, trauma, and other sensitive subjects. You are responsible for deciding whether the Site’s content is appropriate for you.
Crime Central is an independent publication unless a page specifically states otherwise. Mentioning or linking to a person, organization, agency, publication, or product does not mean that Crime Central is affiliated with or endorsed by that party.
2. Informational Purposes Only
Crime Central is provided for informational, educational, editorial, and commentary purposes. Nothing on the Site should be treated as legal, medical, psychological, mental-health, safety-planning, financial, or other professional advice.
Using the Site or contacting Crime Central does not create an attorney-client, therapist-client, advocate-client, or other professional relationship. You should speak with a qualified professional about advice for your specific circumstances.
Crime Central is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. If you need legal assistance, crisis support, or domestic-violence services, contact an appropriate provider in your area.
3. Accuracy and Developing Cases
We make reasonable efforts to use reliable sources and present information accurately. However, we cannot guarantee that every statement is complete, current, or free from error. Laws, research, investigations, and court proceedings can change after an article is published.
Allegations are not proof of guilt. People accused of crimes are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. Crime Central may correct, clarify, update, remove, or archive content when new information becomes available.
To report a possible factual error, contact crimecentralss@gmail.com and include the article title, page link, and information you believe should be reviewed.
4. Age Requirement
The Site is intended for a general audience age 13 and older. It is not directed to children under 13. Children under 13 should not submit personal information, subscribe to the newsletter, use a contact form, or post comments.
If you are under the legal age of majority where you live, you should use the Site with the permission of a parent or legal guardian.
5. Acceptable Use
You may read, share links to, and use the Site for lawful, personal, and noncommercial purposes. Short quotations may be used when permitted by law if Crime Central is clearly credited and the original page is linked.
You may not:
- republish, sell, or distribute substantial portions of Crime Central content without permission;
- remove copyright notices or present Crime Central content as your own;

6. Copyright and Content Ownership
Unless otherwise stated, Crime Central owns its original articles, commentary, graphics, branding, downloadable materials, and other original content. Applicable copyright and intellectual-property laws protect this material.
Crime Central may use quotations, public records, government materials, photographs, screenshots, or other third-party content for reporting, education, criticism, scholarship, or commentary. The original owners retain their rights in third-party material.

7. Comments and User Submissions
If Crime Central allows comments, messages, or other submissions, you are responsible for what you submit. Your content must be lawful, respectful, and relevant.
Do not post unverified accusations, threats, discriminatory content, graphic material, private personal information, or anything that infringes another person’s rights. Crime Central may review, edit, decline, close, or remove comments and submissions at any time. We may also block users who violate these Terms. We are not required to publish a submission or explain a moderation decision.
You keep ownership of content you submit. If you submit material for public display, you give Crime Central permission to display, format, and store it as reasonably necessary to operate and moderate the Site.
Do not use a comment or general contact form to send confidential evidence, privileged communications, medical records, graphic images, or information that could place someone in danger. Crime Central cannot promise that submissions will remain confidential and is not required to investigate tips or forward them to law enforcement.

13. Disclaimers and Responsibility
The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent permitted by law, Crime Central makes no warranties about the Site’s availability, accuracy, completeness, security, or suitability for a particular purpose.
You are responsible for how you use or rely on information from the Site. To the extent permitted by law, Crime Central is not responsible for losses or harm resulting from your use of the Site, inability to access it, reliance on its content, or use of a third-party website linked from it. Nothing in these Terms limits responsibility that cannot legally be excluded.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. This provision applies only to the extent allowed by the laws where you live.
15. Changes to These Terms
Crime Central may update these Terms when the Site, its features, or its practices change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. By continuing to use the Site after an update takes effect, you agree to the revised Terms.
16. General Terms
If one part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms will continue to apply. If Crime Central does not enforce a provision on one occasion, that does not waive the right to enforce it later.
These Terms and the Privacy Policy describe the agreement between you and Crime Central regarding your use of the Site.
