13-year-old Tristyn Bailey was found dead in the woods new a Jacksonville, Florida suburb on May 9, 2021. According to the medical examiner, Tristyn died from “sharp force trauma by stabbing”. Bailey also suffered from trauma to her head. Police have footage of a young girl that matches Bailey’s description walking in a residential neighborhood at approximately 1 am that Sunday. In the video, is also Aiden Fucci, a 14-year-old who murdered Bailey.
On Sunday afternoon, Fucci posted a selfie on Snapchat from the back of a police car stating “Hey guys has inbody seen Tristyn lately”. At the time of this Snapchat, Fucci was only a witness being questioned for a missing person case. Bailey’s body had not yet been found.
As of right now, Fucci is being charged with second-degree murder. It has not been decided if he will be tried as an adult or as a juvenile. The State Attorney is still reviewing the evidence of the case because the investigation is ongoing.
Bailey’s family has set up a GoFundMe account to help establish a memorial foundation in Tristyn’s name.
