Men Who Murdered Ahmaud Arbery Sentenced to Life in Prison

On February 23, 2020, 25-year-old Ahmaud Arbery was shot and killed after he was chased down by three men who claim they thought he was a burglar. The three men believed that Arbery matched the description of someone who had just burglarized a home construction site and was attempting a citizen’s arrest.

Greg McMichael (67), Travis McMichael (35), and William “Roddie” Bryan (52) were sentenced Friday morning in court held in Brunswick, Georgia. Greg and Travis McMichael were both sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole and an additional 20 years. William Bryan was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole.
