In January 1981, the remains of Harold Dean Clouse Jr. (22) and his wife Tina Gail Linn (18) were found in Houston. However, they were not identified for 40 years.
In 1980, Clouse, Linn, and their 1-year-old daughter, Holly Clouse, moved from Florida to Texas. Several months after the move, the couple’s families stopped hearing from them.
In January the following year, a dog emerged from the woods near Wallisville Road with a human arm. The forensic artist for the county developed reconstructions of the couple, however, since they were so new to the area, they were not recognized by the community. The couple was eventually buried without ever being identified.
In 2011, Identifinders International, a California-based genealogy team, exhumed the bodies and began working towards identifying them. Within the last year, the couple was successfully identified, and Clouse’s family was contacted. Clouse’s family was both relieved and devastated, Clouse and Linn had finally been found, but they had been murdered almost 40 years prior. Their daughter, Holly, was still missing as well.
The families still had questions: who murdered the couple? Where was their daughter Holly? Holly would be 42 this year. The child had last been seen in Lewisville, Texas. Allison Peacock, an Identifinders International employee, is working closely with the families and with police agencies to generate a progression model for Holly. Peacock and the families hope that Holly is still alive and unaware of her past and will see the photos and hear about the story and come forward.
