Harmony Montgomery (7) was last seen on September 11, 2019, when Manchester police officers were called to the home. Harmony’s father, Adam, claims that the last time he saw his daughter was Thanksgiving of 2019. He states that the girl’s mother, Crystal Sorey, picked up Harmony to live with her. Adam’s wife, Kayla Montgomery (31), contradicts Adam’s claim; she states that she last saw Harmony the day after Thanksgiving when Adam was driving her to see her mother. Another relative, Adam’s uncle, reports that he has not seen Harmony since 2019. Adam’s uncle and several other family members claim that they brought Harmony’s disappearance up to the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) several times in the past two years. When Harmony’s mother reported that she had not had contact with her daughter and believed her to be missing, the Manchester Police contacted the New Hampshire DCYF announced that they did not know the whereabouts of Harmony.

Adam and Kayla Montgomery have both been arrested and charged with the disappearance of Harmony. Adam was arrested on January 4, 2022, and has been charged with second degree felony assault for hitting Harmony. Adam allegedly told his uncle: “I bashed her around this house” resulting in a black eye. He has also been charged with one misdemeanor charge of child endangerment.

The day after Adam was arrested, Kayla was arrested on one felony welfare fraud charge. Kayla collected $1,500 in food stamps meant for Harmony from December 2019 to June 2021, even though the child was supposedly not in their custody. Prosecutors have since dropped the welfare fraud charge and have charged Kayla Montgomery with one count of theft by deception and two misdemeanor charges of welfare fraud. Kayla allegedly lied about Harmony’s whereabouts in February and March 2021 so she could continue to claim the food stamps.

Adam Montgomery has a criminal history consisting of drug and violent charges. He was convicted for attacking two women at gunpoint. He also shot a man in the head during a drug deal in 2015. Recently, Adam has been connected to a cold case murder from February 2008. The victim, Darlin Guzman was shot in the chest in a convenience store parking lot
