Missing Baby Found

Holly Marie Clouse holds a photo of her with her parents, who were found murdered in Houston, Texas, in January 1981.

In 1981, the unidentified remains of a man and woman were found in Houston, Texas. In 2021, they were identified as Harold Dean Clouse Jr. (22) and Tina Gail Linn Clouse (18). However, their 1-year-old daughter, Holly Marie Clouse, was not found.

Over 40-years later, Holly (42) was found alive in Oklahoma and informed of her identity and parents’ murder. Since then, Holly has been in contact with her extended family and hopes to meet them soon.

Investigators say that Holly was left at a church in Arizona. She was adopted and raised by a family who has been deemed innocent of the murder of her parents. Investigators state that Holly was left at the church by two “nomadic religious group” members. In 1981, a female member of the religious group called the Clouse family stating that the couple had joined their religious group and wanted no contact with their families. She also had the couple’s car and wanted to return it to the family in exchange for money. The family agreed to meet her in Daytona, Florida. The woman was taken into police custody and questioned but was not charged. Investigators have been unable to locate a police report for this encounter.

The investigation into Holly’s disappearance and the murder of Harold and Tina is still ongoing. Anyone with information about the murder of Dean Clouse Jr. and Tina Linn Clouse is asked to contact the Texas Attorney General’s Cold Case and Missing Persons Unit at coldcaseunit@oag.texas.gov or 512-936-0742
