Over the weekend, a Sandy, Utah, teen was arrested after he punched a gay teen who was hugging his boyfriend. The sister of the victim told local media that a group of teenage boys had driven by their home and yelled homophobic slurs at the couple. One of the teens got out of the car and continued to yell slurs at the young man before punching him in the face. The victim was taken to the ER for memory loss and headaches; it is believed that he suffered from a concussion. The suspect was arrested for a misdemeanor assault with hate crime ideation.
